The Power of Oxygen !

"Insufficient oxygen means insufficient biological energy that can result in anything from mild fatigue to life threatening disease. The link between insufficient oxygen and disease has now been firmly established.” -Dr. W. Spencer Way, Journal of the American Association of Physicians

Have you ever wondered how clean the air you breathe is?

Did you realize that everyday particles of materials from places like industrial areas, busy highways, and farms are released into the atmosphere, carried into the atmosphere and carried into the air we breathe. It is estimated that every day on our planet more than 80,000 tons of particles are released into our atmosphere.

These Airborne Pollutants Could Be:

  • Particles of soil or fertilizer blown from plowed farmland
  • Salt (if you live near the ocean)
  • Pollen and plant seeds
  • Gases and particles released from industrial sites
  • Motor vehicles exhaust gases and latex from tires

Many of these particles in the air contribute to the air pollutants we breathe and they can be harmful to us.

Air pollution is the source for acid rain, but there is more to air pollution than that. Often polluted skies carry particles of materials, solids, that eventually settle to the ground. These particles are also in the air we breathe and can be the cause for allergies and other health problems Indoor air pollution ranks among the top five environmental threats to public health problems.

Air pollution comes from many different sources: stationary sources such as factories, power plants, and smelters and smaller sources such as dry cleaners and degreasing operations; mobile sources such as cars, buses, planes, trucks, and trains; and naturally occurring sources such as windblown dust, and volcanic eruptions, all contribute to air pollution. Air Quality can be affected in many ways by the pollution emitted from these sources. These pollution sources can also emit a wide variety of pollutants.

Is the air in your home making you sick? asthma and allergies? headaches and dizziness? eye and throat irritations? fatigue? impaired vision? colds, flu, pneumonia? nose bleeds? respiratory problems? sinus congestion? Air pollution can aggravate respiratory conditions, cause bodily irritations, sickness and even disease. The air inside the typical home is up to 5 times more polluted than the air outside. That's because the home is an enclosed environment full of potential sources of air pollution. Airborne particles are not the only pollutant however. There is also growing concern over gases such as Carbon Monoxide, Sulphur Dioxide and Nitrogen Dioxide. These are generally produced by the burning of fossil fuels and are not just considered an outdoor problem. All of these gasses are dangerous in excessive amounts.

Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) are produced by chemical plants, dry cleaners, and motor vehicles. They are chemicals that can cause serious health and environmental effects, such as cancer, birth defects, and even death from massive accidental releases.

These particles can be inhaled into the lungs where they can become lodged, causing respiratory disease and lung damage. They are produced in the burning of diesel fuels, during the mixing and application of pesticides and fertilizers, and in industrial processes.

Air Pollution causes a hidden danger from the air we breathe. A new study says air pollution may be killing far more people than anyone thought. Researchers from Harvard looked at tiny particles in the atmosphere. The particles are often produced in the exhaust from cars and trucks, particularly diesels. Because they're so small, they can easily penetrate the depths of the lungs, leading to diseases like asthma and bronchitis. The researchers looked at five American cities that track the amount of particulate pollution and were able to estimate its impact on mortality over nearly a decade. They concluded that three per cent of all the deaths in the U.S. can be blamed on particulate pollution.
